Interagency Agreements
The transition process from ESS to preschool special education, if eligible, is designed so that there is no interruption of services for children who qualify for both systems. The NH Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities and HeM 510 requires school districts and Area Agencies to enter into Interagency Agreements for how the transition from Family Centered Early Supports and Services (ESS) to Preschool Special Education will occur. RACE 2K has assisted in the facilitation of Regional Interagency Agreements in all 10 Area Agency regions of New Hampshire. The Regional Interagency Agreements lay out the timelines, policies and procedures for the transition process. Over the course of the 2020-2021 school year, all regions met to revise their Interagency Agreements.
